Bring In. Build Up. Send Out.

Our Story

Mayfield First United Methodist Church began in 1833 with pioneers to this area and circuit riding preachers.  Those early Methodists met together in their own homes for worship for the next four years.  Then in 1837 they built our first facility, a one-room log cabin meeting house.

Over the next several decades our congregation continued to grow and, as a result, built four more facilities at various places around downtown Mayfield.  We hosted five different sessions of Annual Conference (the annual meeting of all Methodist Churches in the Memphis Conference) and have provided a witness to the love and power of God throughout the years.

Today we find ourselves with a rich heritage and a wonderful future.  We exist, just as we always have, to do three things:

Bring In.  Build Up.  Send Out.

We are continuing to grow, both numerically and spiritually and we fully believe God has the best for us yet to come.

We invite you to join us on our journey as we continue to work with Jesus Christ to bring the Kingdom of God on earth as it is in heaven.
