Prayer
|
Mayfield First United Methodist Church has an active prayer ministry. In 1992 a Spiritual Life Committee was formed and soon thereafter a prayer chain was started with three points of contact for anyone with a prayer request. In 1999 we designated an are of the Church for a Prayer Room where prayer requests were collected from the congregation and community. The Prayer Room is open to the public between 7:30 am and 3:30 pm Monday through Friday. Prayer cards are prayed over on a daily basis by members. Some volunteer to come one day a week, others once a month. Volunteers are asked to interceed in prayer for those who have reported a need for prayer for approximately thirty minutes per visit. There is also a prayer group that meets each Saturday for praise and prayer. Card to request prayer are available in the church pews and can be placed in the offering plate during worship or in prayer request boxes throughout the facility. Prayer requests may also be made by emailing us or calling the Church office (247.5678). Requests are emailed to members of the prayer chain and we also use an automated phone tree to activate the prayer chain whenever specific prayers are needed. We need intercessors to pray at home and in the Prayer Room. If you would like to join us, please email us or call the office. We also want to serve anyone with a need. Contact us through email, the office or a prayer card. Requests can be anonymous. God knows every need! He hears and answers prayer according to His time and wisdom. |
